What are we all about?

'Women's rights are human rights, human rights are women's rights.' Hillary Clinton 1995

The American Woman Organization is committed to improving the lives of every citizen by improving the lives of the American Woman and our American Daughters and Sons. Through outreach and advocacy, we can make a difference! We attend meetings held by local legislators and politicians, attend hearings, and support candidates that support a vision of hope. We have been successful in advocating for improvements in our community so we can build a better world for our children.

Our volunteer base is growing daily as citizens have found a voice and renewed sense of hope. You too can make a difference. Sign up for our blog, become a member of The American Woman Organization, or email to volunteer. The American Woman could use the talent of volunteers for making our videos and YouTubes, fundraisers, and outreach.

Hurricane Hazel serves as an inspiration to The American Woman, and all women political leaders. Male political leaders could learn quite a bit from her as well. Read about her here. Enjoy the video about her  as reported by the Mercer Report on February 29, 2009:

THE AMERICAN WOMAN - says NO to Cap and Tax - er Trade!
Minnesota U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann points out Obama's $3.6 trillion budget triples the national debt within a decade, which is why she adamantly opposes it. She tells Newsmax TV Obama's "cap and trade" is really a tax on everyone for the use of energy. She says it will boost unemployment and drive businesses and jobs overseas to countries like China and India that don't have such a tax. She thinks this insidious scheme can be stopped, but only if people revolt quickly as Sen. Reid vows to ram it home by the end of August. Michelle Bachmann is one of the diamonds of the women political leaders.

Tennessee U. S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, says that energy taxes and other taxes and fees incorporated into the "Cap and Trade" will hit The American Woman households HARD! These increased taxes, fees, usage fees take more money out of your pocket and lend it to the public sector and increases the government control. Blackburn referred to it as "Cap and Tax." People are hurting and it was a good thing there was a bi-partisan opposition to the stimulus plan, and we must also oppose the "Cap and Trade." She is another sparkling diamond of the women political leaders.

In response to the American women - from hockey and soccer moms to stay at home moms, from homemakers to career women; from mothers, sisters, and  daughters to great-grandmothers who have called for an organization that represents them, we announce the formation of a national women’s organization that will represent those who continue to be disenfranchised because there is no group where their collective voices can be heard. These women are the backbone of this nation and the hands that rock the cradle. They are  young. They are not so young. They are professionals. They work at home. They are workers from the middle class. They are retired. They are single. They are married. The American Woman will provide the forum for all our voices to be heard!

FEMINISM AND THE AMERICAN WOMAN
The American Woman Organization will work collectively for a greater good for ourselves, our family and our  American daughters as well as the best future for our nation. We are non partisan and will remain that way. Our overall goal is to speak with one voice — a loud and clear voice to ensure a little liberty and a say in our own government without gender bias, sexism, ageism or misogyny. So, for the purpose of our organization and its work the term Feminists will be defined as 'women who are otherwise disenfranchised who ban together to live in a nation free of sexism, misogyny, glass ceilings, and inequality.
The American Woman demands a little liberty and a say in her government. No longer will The American Woman be a doormat.' It will soon be over two hundred and twenty years and no feminine face yet in the Oval Office, but who is counting?

The American Woman Organization wants to accomplish:

As our numbers grow, we hope to fund a foundation. Through our foundation we hope to offer microloans, grants, math/science/history/technology classes for the American youth and so much more.

Join today and let's write women back into history, better still let's make our own history through the work of our hands, hearts, and the action of our [red high] heels.

As we mature as an organization our goals may be improved or revised. Some of our short-term goals  will be:

  • boycott products, services and media that do not serve well or respect The American Woman
  • report and protest through blogs, email and actions any occurrence of sexism, misogyny or ageism
  • promote in every way possible those who provide or promote fair reflection of The American Woman in the political arena
  • illuminate women politicians: those we are proud to call an American Woman and those that we are not proud to call an American Woman.
  • allow guest authors especially those who write in their own voice about historically significant women
  • support passing of the ERA to achieve Constitutional Equality
  • support the Lily Ledbetter Act and those who support it to ensure Economic Justice Accomplished 1/29/2009 ?
  • support those American Daughters you know and encourage them to achieve Educational Equity
  •  rely only on sources for unbiased news, not mainstream media and share those unbiased sources.
  • register to vote. Make sure you are registered to vote and make your voice heard. http://www.govote.org
